Currently managing the condo known as Island Haven at Emerald Isle, on Okaloosa Island, located at 770 Sundial Ct. #500, Ft. Walton Beach, FL 32548. The condo is right on the beach. The 5th floor (really 4th floor because first floor is below ground level), allows for magnificent views of the Gulf of Mexico. The height allows you to see the dolphins and ships and horizon but is still low enough to holler at the kids in the pool or husband at the grill. Literally 5 ft from the pool or the grill is the powder sugar white sands on the Gulf of Mexico. We are known and documented as having some of the whitest sand beaches in the world. This condo is just 6 miles from Destin, FL, close enough to enjoy their HarborWalk, restaurants and entertainment but far enough away to escape the hussel bussel when you want to sit with your feet in the Gulf, using the FREE beach chair service. You don't sit multiple rows back from the water, because your sharing the space with 15+ stories of other renters, you sit right on the beach with toes in the water. Okaloosa Is. residents have a max building height of 7 stories, so you can get up close and personal with the beach. The Gulf is 100 ft from the pool, grill, public restrooms and a few floors up to the condo.
If you walk 1.5 miles east you reach the Okaloosa Island Pier which includes the Gulfarium and restaurants from several 5 star seafood places to burgers, tacos, ice cream and everything in between. There are a variety of shops for kites to gifts to apparel The Public Pier allows you to walk out nearly a quarter mile into the Gulf to sight see or catch more than 100# fish. If you walk a half mile to the West of the condo you get to the Gulf Islands National Seashore, where there are no buildings for more than 30 continuous miles. NEWS & MEDIA JULY 22, 2020 Top U.S. Area to Buy a Vacation-Rental Home? The Panhandle
Weiss Analytics: Fla.’s Panhandle offers the best returns on vacation-home investments in the U.S., while Siesta Key and the Miami Beach metro also made the top 20 list.
NEW YORK – Real estate investors are scrutinizing second-home markets as they hunt for growth opportunities, even during the pandemic. After all, “travel doesn’t stop when the economy weakens – it changes where people travel,” a new report from rental management site Rented Inc. and Weiss Analytics notes.
“In 2020, travelers want to stay closer to home, and they are seeking genuine experiences. High on the list are Instagram-worthy, outdoor locations, and the highest returns come from homes that enhance the guest experience,” the report states.
Rented and Weiss note a “dramatic shift” in drive-to destinations and markets within two to five hours of major metro areas, which are seeing some of the highest returns in vacation home rentals.
Rented Inc. and Weiss Analytics’ fifth annual analysis of top vacation rental markets looks at properties based on the highest return on investment. The rankings use a three-bedroom, two-bath stand-alone home rental as a base and then compare this vacation housing across hot spots based on homeownership, short-term revenue potential, cost to acquire, annual appreciation and projected changes in asset value.
Overall, the report found that Florida’s Panhandle is the top vacation-home investment area in the U.S. with an index score of 98.7, though Siesta Key and Miami Beach also made the top 20. Out of 100 cities rated, El Paso, Texas, came in last with an index score of 13.9.
